BT’s Studio Robbed

Wednesday, February 28th, 2007

As I read the original posting on BT’s MySpace page, I felt just sick to my stomach. As an artist, I don’t even know how I would comprehend having my studio broken into and having the things that I held closest to me taken, possibly never to be seen again.

I’m writing this from one artist to another, but also to the general public to promote awareness on this sort of situation. This does unfortunately happen, even to mega-stars such as Brian himself.

Please read the following image and pass it along to friends to promote awareness on this situation.

Brian: I really hope your gear is returned. All the best in this difficult and heart-wrenching time.

Tiesto in Toronto Video

Monday, February 19th, 2007

Back over Canada Day long weekend in July of 2005, Tiesto came to Toronto to play at The Docks nightclub. I had the privilege of getting up on stage with him and doing a little video from a digicam. I know it’s not a pro video or anything, but my good friend Karim did some great editing with the video/photo’s that I took, and a collection of video’s from the Toronto TranceAddict community. I finally decided to upload it to YouTube, and here is the end result. Enjoy.

February Mix Online

Sunday, February 4th, 2007

February sure is frigid weather here in Canada (-30C/-22F) so it’s time to get things jumping a little bit.

Starting things off are two nice techy remixes, the first being by Marco V and the second by Valentino Kanzyani (who is quickly growing to be one of my favorite tech producers). I ran into John Acquaviva last week so I figured I should play one of his songs this month, so we have “Feedback“.

Following up with the techy style of things is Rank 1’s re-hash of “Analog Feel” by Cosmic Gate. This is a great edit of the original that is making waves all over the world.

Into the middle of the set we’ve got the already magnificent “Megashira” from the incredible Marc Marberg and Kyau vs. Albert. Something about this tune just has people going wild over it. Following up is Kenneth Thomas bringing the long awaited “Achems Razor” on Markus Schulz Coldharbour label. A personal favorite of mine that sure did the damage in Toronto a few months back.

Next we’ve got the tune of the month for me. The long awaited “Reflect” from 18yr old Israeli audiophile, Maor Levi. Even though he’s away at the army he’s still managing to make sure we’re still aware that he’s around having this brilliant tune released on his beloved Anjunabeats.

Powering through to the end is first a melodic tune from Francis Blaid, “Mystery“, forthcoming on Active Recordings (read my review here). Then running wild to the finish is a powerful tech trance remix from Kamui taking A.S.Y.S.‘ “Cheers” for a ride. And taking the reins to the finish is Sean Tyas with his remix of the lovely Bobina’s “Lighthouse“.

Enjoy this month’s set. Tracklisting and more information after the jump.
