null

Well it’s that time of the year again, the DJ Mag Top 100 DJ poll has opened for another year of votes. If you haven’t noticed the influx of messages from DJ’s asking for your vote on mailing lists, forums, MySpace and other avenues of communication. So get your votes in for this year and also let your friends know about the votes and get them in on voting for their favourite djs too.

Some of my personal picks for this year include Andy Moor, Sander van Doorn, Eddie Halliwell, Markus Schulz, and Gareth Emery. Whoever you’ve seen play a great gig since last years votes or they’ve released a great track or you heard a guest mix on the radio, whatever it is that made you want to hear more from that DJ give them your vote and help their ranking in this years DJ Mag Top 100 DJ’s.

You can cast your vote here. There is over a month left before voting closes, but get in and vote now while you remember!

In Memory of John Avenida

Wednesday, August 8th, 2007

As some of you may know, we lost a good friend yesterday. John Avenida as you may have known him in the DJ world, Paul McClean as his birth name, passed away August 7, 2007 at 3:30 P.M. GMT. Paul, 23, was taken into hospital on Wednesday with blood clots on his lungs, one of those reached his brain and his brain was damaged beyond repair. He was taken off life support at 3:30 in the afternoon and died peacefully with his family.

I had spoken quite a few times with Paul as he was a fan of my BOOM radio show and I of his Peak Control, seeing as we were both residents on Party107.com. He was always a great character who always kept me laughing. I will miss him dearly.

Feel free to leave your condolences on his MySpace page.
