So this is a bit of a different style diary than before as I’ve had a bit of a transition in my life. I’ve moved to Calgary, Alberta and haven’t played as many gigs lately so this diary is more what I’ve been up to. Upgraded my mobile to the iPhone 3G and it has a significantly better camera than the Blackberry Curve. So here are a few snaps from the past couple months!

More geek stuff here. I’ve enabled a Pownce account which is a site created by one of my favorite geek guys on the web: Kevin Rose. Very inspirational person who’s done incredible things in the world of tech.

Basically it’s another social network avenue which I’ve also added into my Ping.fm account for easy updating.

So yeah, check out my Pownce page, and keep the votes coming for DJ Mag 2008 because it would be super.

So likely quite a few of you guys know I’m a pretty big nerd, as quite a lot of DJ’s and producers are, and I’ve finally got around to getting myself a Twitter account for status updates and the like.

To make it a little more worthwhile though, I’ve also been passed a beta account for Ping.fm which is great for updating all of your blogs or status’ through one simple medium, so I would recommend checking it out and finding someone with a beta code.

I’m performing at my first gig in Calgary since moving a couple weeks ago this coming Friday at Amsterdam Rhino which I’ve been told is a very great intimate venue. Very much looking forward to it and I hope to see some of you guys out for a good time.

I’ve decided to blatantly rip off Gareth Emery with his brilliant idea of a mobile phone diary while on tour. Since I am never more than a few feet from my mobile, I figured it’s the easiest way to document what’s going on without having to lug another camera with me. The camera on my current phone (Blackberry Curve 8310) is pretty decent at 2 mega pixel full colour and takes pretty good shots, so here are a few snaps from the past couple months!

This is just a note to clear things up about the Egypt issue and why I wasn’t able to attend the show in Cairo yesterday.

I can assure everyone I was on time and in the airport without any issues. The problems arose when Lufthansa changed the booking time without alerting the members of the flight (I’m assuming because of the American Airlines issues). Myself and 50+ other people on the flight missed the departure completely.

I tried for well over 2hrs after realizing this to rebook with Lufthansa and other airlines but it just wasn’t meant to be as nothing could get me to Cairo on time for the gig.

I am gutted that I had to cancel the gig due to something completely out of my control, not only because I missed the gig, but because this is the first time I have EVER had to cancel an event. I would like to apologize to everyone who was looking forward to me coming to Egypt. I really appreciate all your e-mails and concern.

The good news is, I have spoken with the promoters and we are working together to re-schedule to another date soon, so I can assure you that I WILL make a return to Egypt within the coming months.

I regret to inform you guys that my upcoming gigs in India have been canceled due to complications beyond my control.

Unfortunately the promoter was giving me the run-around for far too long and I was unable to come to an agreement in time to get a proper Visa arranged; thus making the decision for me to cancel the 3 gig tour.

I hate to cancel any gig but sometimes there is no way around things and I wasn’t going to risk heading into a foreign country without proper papers or arrangements. Hopefully I can come to India someday as I have heard great things, but it won’t be at this particular time.

So as you can see, we’ve got ourselves a new website! I’ve been working with the guys over at Dancenode.com and we’ve come up with a pretty nice re-design of the site. New fresh layout, better colours, and some nice new features. Things aren’t quite in perfect working order with some things missing, but I’ll keep everyone up to speed when more goodies are added. If you see anything drastically wrong with the site or want to let me know what you think of the site, just leave a comment here or fire me over an e-mail to let me know.

Right now I’m just in the studio finishing off some last minute touches to things in preparation for Winter Music Conference (WMC) in Miami (which I posted about HERE), as I leave at the early hours of Monday morning. I’ll be posting a bit while I’m there as well keeping you guys updated with a full range of the shenanigans.
